PRAYER YOUTH LEAGUE

Motto: “Here I am, Lord send me “Isaiah 6 v 8b

Aims and Objectives

  • To help, co-ordinate  inspire, lead and direct the youth in the church.
  • To grow in love, patience and faith in Christ through worship and study of God’s word
  • To share experience and to reflect, deeply upon the Christian faith in relation of their daily lives.
  • To take part in all the duties of the congregation in order to develop leadership qualities within the church
  • To win other for Christ
  • To develop in body, mind and spirit
  • To grow in responsibility within the family and community
  • To strive for the values of peace, justice, freedom and righteousness as embodied in the kingdom of God
  • To perform such acts to further progress of the league.

The league’s members at congregational level shall hold weekly prayer meetings.

YOUNG ADULTS LEAGUE

Motto-“I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.”

Aims and Objectives

  • To maintain a developing faith in God that is reinterpreted, strengthened, and expanded as a result of increasing contact with the realities of life.
  • To become a witness of Jesus Christ, as a servant by words and deeds, in faith with love and hope to God.
  • To bring in innovative partnerships with organizations outside ELCSA To deepen our understanding of the significance of the sacraments and the liturgy.

  • To create a cadre-ship to challenge practices and tendencies that hinder progress in the church.
  • To realize the worth of every individual despite his/her frailties and limitations.
  • To participate creatively in the various worship opportunities provided thorough the church.
  • To accept responsibility for adult leadership and service in the church and for Christian stewardship in supporting it

PRAYER WOMEN’S LEAGUE

Motto: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

Duties and Objectives

  • 1 In pursuance of the above stated aim it shall be the duty of every member of the league:
  • 1.1 To take part faithfully in the meetings, the planning, the work and the projects of the League;
  • 1.2 To meet at least once a week to pray and to help one another with the Word of God.
  • 1.3 To minister to and cooperate with all women in the church, especially in projects of upgrading, development and empowerment.
  • 1.4 To strive for the redemption of all those who have become victims of the ravages of intoxicating liquor, drugs, sex, child, women and parent abuse, and broken homes.
  • 1.5 To refrain and dissuade others from taking part in practices, superstitions, beliefs, witchcraft and immoral rituals that does not conform to Christian faith.
  • 1.6 To lead a faithful life of daily worship.
  • 1.7 To make her home a Christian one by observing family prayers and leading a Christian life, and also encourage her husband and children.
  • 1.8 To set an example of being a good Christian neighbour in the Church and in the community as a whole.

PRAYER MEN’S LEAGUE

Motto: “Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave, be strong”. 1 Corinthians 16:13.

Aims and Objectives

  • To encourage men to study the word of God
  • To encourage men to organize themselves into the league that shall be a nucleus of men’s activities in their congregations
  • To bring to Christ non-Christians and re awaken the backsliders through the word of God and encourage them to serve the lord more actively
  • To encourage, strength and comfort the sick, suffering and the bereaved.
  • To be an example to the congregants on and society in good conduct and upholding of Christian values.
  • To encourage men to sue their God-given gifts, talents and expertise in church and society
  • To encourage the spirit of ecumenism as long as this does not violate the teaching of ELCSA
  • To conscientize men to the challenges and opportunities in Christian life.
  • To be supportive of the mission of the church
  • The league members at congregational level shall hold weekly prayer meetings

ELCSAMO

Motto: “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” Psalm 100:1-2

Aims and Objectives

  • To interest Congregants in Church music.
  • To promote the standard of hymn, liturgy and anthem singing in the Church.
  • To encourage members to participate actively in Church Services
  • To develop musical talent in the Church
  • To acquaint members with famous Christian songs and composers
  • To propagate good quality Church music through the medium of recording
  • To awaken Christian zest through music
  • To provide music education in church
  • To encourage Congregants to worship and serve the Lord by singing and actively being involved in Church Music by organizing
  • themselves into a church choir which shall be a nucleus of Music activities of ELCSA
  • To bring to Christ unbelievers, reawaken the backsliders and to win back the lapsed through Music and home visitations.
